Eligibility and Enrollment

Eligible employees can enroll in benefits within 30 days of hire or eligibility, and every year during Open Enrollment.

On this page:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Full-time, benefits-eligible Scheduled Hours: At least 37.5 hours per week (40 hours per week for Campus Police Association) or 100% of a full-time schedule
  • Part-time, benefits-eligible Scheduled Hours: At least 17.5 hours per week or 46.7% of a full-time schedule
  • Not benefits-eligible Scheduled Hours: Less than 17.5 hours per week or 46.7% of a full-time schedule

When to Enroll in Benefits

  • New hires and newly-eligible employees: You must enroll within 30 days of your hire date (or the date you become eligible). Your elections will be effective for the remainder of the calendar year, unless you experience a qualified life or family status change.
    • If you do not enroll in or opt out of benefits within the initial 30-day enrollment period, you will be automatically enrolled in the default plan for your employee type. The cost of the plan will be deducted from your paycheck.
    • If you were hired on the first day of the month, your benefit-effective date is your date of hire. If you were hired on the second day of the month or later, your benefit-effective date is the first of the month following your date of hire.
  • Rehired Employees: If you separate from employment at 91视频 (or otherwise lose eligibility) and then resume employment (or regain eligibility) within the same calendar year, your elections in effect on the date you initially lost eligibility will be automatically reinstated. You will not be permitted to make new elections until the next Open Enrollment period unless you experience a qualified life or family status change.
  • Open Enrollment: Typically held in in late-fall, Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review your coverage and make changes for the upcoming year.
    • If you do not actively select your benefits during open enrollment, you will be enrolled in the same plans (or equivalent) at the same level of participation you have in the current year, with the exception of flexible spending accounts.
    • Elections made during Open Enrollment become effective the following Jan. 1 and remain in effect for the entire calendar year, unless you experience a qualified life or family status change.
