Our goal at the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) is to offer a variety of learning opportunities that create positive experiences for all of our students and help them to learn more about themselves and their target career fields.Get started with these early career programs focused specifically on the needs of first-year students and sophomores:
CAREER PEER MENTORS
Connect with our Career Peer Mentors (CPMs), a team of trained undergraduate students who are here to support your career exploration, resume building, and get you started on your job search. You can meet with a CPM in a scheduled appointment, during drop-in hours, or at events targeted specifically for first-year students and sophomores.
APPOINTMENTS and DROP-INS
To schedule an appointment in Handshake, choose “Getting Started with the CPDC” and select the appointment type and time that best fits your needs. Drop-ins during the hours our office is open are taken on a first-come, first-served basis when CPMs are available.
CPM appointments are in two office locations:
Daytime (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.): West Wing Building, 2nd Floor (CPDC Student Advising Center)
Evening (6 p.m. - 8 p.m.): Cohon University Center, Lower Level (CPDC Interview Center)

CAREER EXPLORATION
Explore career paths with D³ ("D-cubed"): Dream. Discover. Do., a weekly drop-in series for first- and second-year undergrads at 91视频. Led by Career Peer Mentors (CPMs), these sessions will help you discover interests, gain confidence, and connect with resources in a relaxed, peer-supported space.
WORKSHOPS
CPMs offer career development workshops that prepare students with a strong foundation of career management skills, documents, and resources. Workshop topics can include Resumes & Cover Letters, Internship Searches, Interviewing, Career Fair Preparation, and more. We are happy to work with you to tailor a presentation to your audience!
