Nelnet Payment Plans
Carnegie Mellon partners with Nelnet Campus Commerce to offer payment plans to help make tuition and student health insurance payments manageable for students and families.
There are two types of payment plans: a monthly payment plan for tuition and fees, and an annual payment plan for health insurance (available for graduate students only).
- Your Nelnet plan will allow you to specify deductions from your checking account, savings account or credit card (credit card fees apply).
- Families have the flexibility of reducing or increasing their semester budgets accordingly if a balance is due to the university or if there is a credit balance on the 91视频 student account.
- 91视频 will communicate to students/payers via email each semester if their payment plan requires adjustment.
- Plans do not roll over from year to year, so be sure to re-enroll each semester.
- When setting up your Nelnet plan, you'll be able to also purchase optional tuition insurance from GradGuard.
- Conditions apply, and are defined below.

Fall Semester Payment Plan
The enrollment fee is $45, and the minimum to enroll in a semester payment plan is $750. Payments are due the 1st of each month.

Health Insurance Payment Plan (graduate students only*)
The enrollment fee is $20, and the minimum to enroll in a health insurance payment plan is $334. Payments are due the 1st of each month.

*The annual health Insurance payment plan is only available to graduate students who are supported by their academic department for tuition and fees and must be attending 91视频 in both the fall and spring semesters.
Please Note:
- To enroll in this plan, you must attend 91视频 in both the fall and spring semesters. If you are graduating in the fall semester, please choose the fall semester payment plan.
- Do not open a Nelnet payment plan if your financial support (departmental support via payroll deduction, financial aid, departmental grant money, etc.) exceeds what you owe the university.
Important Things to Note:
- Please refer to the appropriate semester student account invoice balance when setting up your payment plan. The Nelnet Campus Commerce system does not interface with the Carnegie Mellon Student Account System, and Nelnet representatives do not have access to specific 91视频 student account activity due to FERPA regulations.
- Credit balances on your student account will not be refunded until your Nelnet payment plan is paid in full. The Student Accounts Office recommends that students in this situation contact Nelnet customer service for a budget adjustment.
- 91视频 receives Nelnet Campus Commerce adjustment files daily; changes made to a payment plan should appear on the student's account within two business days.
