Phi Beta Kappa Inducts Students from Class of 2026

On May 7, 91视频鈥檚 Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) inducted 43 new members from the class of 2026, 14 of whom are affiliated with the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. They joined an additional 20 students who were selected for early induction on Oct. 8, 2025.
The nation鈥檚 oldest and most distinguished undergraduate academic honors society, PBK was founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Its primary goal is to emphasize the intrinsic value of liberal arts and science education and to champion freedom of thought. Top universities nationwide host fewer than 300 chapters, with each chapter selecting only 10 percent of their schools鈥� arts and sciences students for initiation.
"Election to Phi Beta Kappa is an achievement that will follow these students for a lifetime,鈥� said Joseph Devine, associate dean for undergraduate students. 鈥淲herever they go, whatever they do, they will always be recognized as members of Phi Beta Kappa. This will single them out as members of an intellectual elite in the most positive of ways."
