Why MIIPS?
My interest in attending MIIPS emerged from a growing awareness of the distance that often exists between designing conceptually and understanding how it is ultimately engineered, manufactured, and sustained over time. During my BFA in Product Design, much of my education leaned towards developing strong conceptual and stylistic work, often leaving the practical realities of scalable production less explored. As a result, I became increasingly motivated to close that gap; to move beyond designing at the level of intention alone and toward a more grounded understanding of how products exist within systems shaped by material constraints and technical processes.Education

What type of role are you looking to obtain after you graduate?
After completing my degree, I intend to work as a medical device designer at a healthcare-focused design consultancy, medical technology company, or biotech firm. I am looking for a role that allows me to work in collaboration with engineering and clinical teams. I am particularly interested in creating patient-facing devices, where design decisions can directly influence usability and clinical outcomes. Long term, I hope to lead the development of medical products that can challenge the norms of the industry.
