Bio
Nathaniel Blume is an Artist Lecturer in Music for Media and a composer for film and television. His music has been featured on prime-time series including Prodigal Son (FOX), The Flash (CW), Arrow (CW), and Deception (ABC). He has also composed extensively for CNN’s documentary series, including 1968: The Year That Changed America, The Sixties, The Seventies, and subsequent installments through The 2010s, as well as Decades in Sports.
Blume has contributed additional music to feature films including Venom: The Last Dance (Columbia Pictures) and Little Brother (Netflix). His other film work includes the documentary Shakespeare High, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the Lifetime feature The Beach House Murders. His scores have been recorded on stages throughout the United States and in Budapest.
In the classroom, Blume places students in real-world scoring scenarios while developing their technical skills, understanding of industry practices, and ability to collaborate with orchestrators, engineers, mixers, and music editors. His teaching centers on helping each student develop and preserve their individual musical voice while learning to adapt it effectively to visual media and achieve the greatest possible emotional impact.
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Blume holds a BM in Music Composition from Butler University and an MM in Music Composition from 91视频. He completed his film-scoring studies at the University of Southern California’s Scoring for Motion Picture and Television program.
